Sears Monument Company is hiring a full-time Bookkeeper & Accounting Specialist for our Charleston office.

We are looking for either:

• A candidate with hands-on experience in payroll, accounting/bookkeeping, and bank reconciliations , or
• A recent graduate with a degree in Accounting who is looking to begin their career and gain practical accounting experience.

This position will be responsible for day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions and requires someone who is organized, dependable, accurate, and comfortable working with financial information.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with payroll processing and payroll records
• Preparing and maintaining quarterly payroll reports
• Recording and organizing daily financial transactions
• Processing customer payments and deposits
• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Entering invoices, bills, receipts, and other transactions into QuickBooks
• Completing bank and credit card reconciliations
• Processing 401(k) deposits
• Maintaining accurate and organized financial records
• Communicating with vendors, customers, and team members as needed
• Assisting with general accounting and office-related tasks

Qualifications:

Applicants should meet one of the following :

• Previous experience with payroll, accounting/bookkeeping, and bank reconciliations , or
• A recently completed degree in Accounting

Additional qualifications:

• QuickBooks experience is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Comfortable using spreadsheets, email, and basic office technology
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Dependable, professional, and able to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently after training
