Machine Operator

This role operates a high-volume packaging machine within a GMP-compliant food production environment. The Machine Operator loads food products into a large packaging machine, monitors its performance, and oversees a small team of packers to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate packaging operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate a large food packaging machine in a GMP food production environment, following established procedures and safety standards.
• Load food products into the packaging machine accurately and efficiently to maintain consistent production flow.
• Oversee and coordinate the work of 24 packers, ensuring proper packing, labeling, and handling of products.
• Monitor machine performance during the shift and promptly address basic operational issues or escalate concerns when necessary.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with GMP and facility standards.
• Follow all production, quality, and safety guidelines to ensure packaged products meet required specifications.
• Handle materials and product movement, including lifting items up to 30 lbs as needed throughout the shift.
• Support overall production goals by working reliably and consistently, demonstrating strong job stability and dependability.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience operating production or packaging machines in a manufacturing or similar environment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs on a regular basis throughout the shift.
• Demonstrated job stability and a consistent work history in previous roles.
• Basic understanding of machine operation and safety practices.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure products are packaged correctly and meet quality standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in a GMP or food manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with packaging machines or automated packaging equipment.
• Previous experience leading or overseeing a team in a production or warehouse setting.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to communicate clearly with team members and follow supervisory direction.
• Willingness to work on a fixed second shift schedule.

Work Environment

This role is based in a GMP-compliant food production facility that is very clean and well lit, providing a comfortable and safe setting for manufacturing work. The position operates on a second shift schedule from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., working with large packaging machinery and collaborating closely with a small team of packers on the production floor.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
