Job Description

This role operates and monitors highly automated blow molding machines in a modern production environment. You will work closely with another team member to keep equipment running efficiently, ensure raw materials are properly stocked, and maintain consistent production cycle times through visual inspections and basic troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Operate one of two blow molding machines in a production setting, working alongside another machine operator.
• Keep the blow molding machines running smoothly and consistently, maintaining targeted 70-second cycle times.
• Monitor machine performance and respond quickly to minor malfunctions to minimize downtime.
• Perform regular visual inspections of products and equipment to identify defects or issues.
• Ensure raw materials are stocked and loaded correctly to support continuous production.
• Reset codes and clear faults on the computer system controlling the machines.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical and system issues to maintain optimal machine performance.
• Follow established safety procedures and quality standards throughout all machine operations.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to communicate issues, suggest improvements, and support production goals.
• Train on first shift to learn equipment, processes, and safety protocols before transitioning to second shift.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of machine operating experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• At least 1 year of experience troubleshooting equipment or systems in a production setting.
• At least 1 year of experience performing visual inspections to verify product quality and detect defects.
• At least 1 year of experience resetting codes and clearing faults on computer-controlled machinery.
• Ability to operate and monitor automated or semi-automated production equipment.
• Ability to identify minor mechanical or system issues and perform basic troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail when performing visual inspections and monitoring machine output.
• Basic computer literacy to work with machine control systems and fault codes.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety and quality procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with blow molding or similar plastic manufacturing equipment is an asset.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment with set cycle times.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new processes and technologies.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and report equipment issues.
• Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to consistently work assigned shifts.
• Openness to cross-training and adapting to evolving production needs in a growing facility.

Work Environment

The role is based in a brand-new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that is very clean, well lit, and equipped with modern blow molding machines and computer-based control systems. The standard schedule is second shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., with a shift premium for working this schedule. New hires must be willing to train on first shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for approximately 3 to 6 weeks before transitioning to second shift. The work is performed on the production floor around automated machinery, requiring adherence to safety guidelines and appropriate industrial attire as directed by facility policies.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, WI.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Kenosha,WI.
