Business Office Manager

As Business Office Manager, you will oversee the financial and administrative operations of our skilled nursing facility. In this role, you will act as a compassionate guide for residents and families and ensure financial compliance for timely billing. Key Responsibilities Medicaid Application & Eligibility Guide residents and their families through the complex Medicaid Pending process all the way to approval. Track the status of pending applications, submitting necessary requests and communicating closely with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. Resident Trust & Funds Management Manage Resident Trust Accounts in compliance with state and federal regulations. Accurately record all deposits, withdrawals, and interest earned. Issue receipts, disburse funds upon request, and conduct thorough monthly bank reconciliations. Accounts Receivable, Collections & Accounts Payable Manage facility Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including processing vendor invoices and making deposits. Monitor past‑due accounts and execute collection strategies for private pay balances. Process and record daily cash receipts, ensuring timely deposits. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred. Experience: 2-3 years of business office experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or long-term care setting. State Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Michigan Medicaid (MDHHS) guidelines and application procedures.
