Location: USA - Carteret, Salt Meadow Rd Division: Solutions Job Posting Title: Operations Manager- 2nd Shift Time Type: Full Time POSITION SUMMARY Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager oversees day‑to‑day site operations, including warehousing, receiving, and shipping. The role plans inbound and outbound volume, manages space utilization, coordinates equipment, and handles people management tasks such as hiring, training, labor planning, performance appraisals, and problem resolution. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develop systems and procedures for safe and profitable operations, equipment and product management in accordance with company policies. Manage operations to meet productivity and service goals and comply with client SLAs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost‑saving measures. Ensure compliance with quality system requirements and client KPIs. Apply effective communication and motivational techniques, supervise fairly, counsel, and discipline team members as needed. Collaborate with Human Resources to design hiring, training, and professional development programs, and participate in performance evaluation. Deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time and keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues. Plan daily work schedules, review work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions, and assign duties to warehouse staff. Review volume demands to plan warehouse space reorganization and determine staffing and equipment needs. Ensure proper training delivery and adherence to standard operating procedures for all team members. MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS Ensure team proficiency in required information systems, including WMS. Purchase computer software and hardware in line with Corporate IT policies. Stay knowledgeable about hardware and software technology changes. Develop proficiency in client systems. CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT Maintain high level customer service standards across all functions. Provide operational and administrative support to client accounts. Respond to requests and maintain appropriate contact with all functions. Attend or lead meetings with key customers to discuss issues. Coordinate management of supplier/customer visits. Promote positive client relationships through excellent service. BUDGETING/FINANCIALS Support development of the annual operating budget. Create and manage controls to meet service level and performance goals within cost, revenue, and profit parameters. Assist in ensuring budgeting and pricing activities comply with contract guidelines. EQUIPMENT & FACILITIES Manage programs maintaining sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment standards, including MHE. Ensure team training on MHE. Stay informed on new technology and make recommendations as applicable. SAFETY Achieve safety goals by establishing a proactive safety culture within operations. Audit warehouse for compliance with safety, security, and quality rules. Adhere to all federal, provincial, or statutory requirements within Health and Safety guidelines. OTHER DUTIES Work overtime as dictated by business needs, whether mandatory or voluntary. Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage warehouse operations supervisors and support staff. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 7 years of experience in a logistics/distribution environment. Minimum 5 years in a supervisory role. Must be able to work in varied temperatures during warmer and colder months. Strong attention to detail, organizational and personnel skills, communication skills, leadership, supervision, and planning skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required. Adaptability to change in a fast‑paced environment. COMPUTER SKILLS Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Proven knowledge of applicable WMS systems. LANGUAGE SKILLS English reading, writing, verbal; proficiency in business communication at all levels. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment is generally low to moderate noise, with rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. Compensation: The expected base pay range is $90,000–$100,000 annually. Actual base compensation will be determined based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, geographic location, and other objective business considerations.
