The Role
You open the bistro kitchen and run breakfast from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM. You cook, you make the coffee, and you leave the kitchen clean and stocked for the next shift. Your shifts are Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, including holidays that fall on those days. See exactly what you will be preparing: the menu is at thehollywoodhotel.com/dining.
What you will do
- Cook breakfast to order: omelettes and eggs any style, breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, waffles, and the rest of the morning menu
- Make coffee and espresso drinks to cafe standard: lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, chai, matcha
- Wash dishes and cookware after service and leave every station sanitized
- Track food inventory: note what is low, rotate stock, and flag orders to the Food & Beverage Manager
- Keep the kitchen to Los Angeles County health-code standards
- Serve hotel guests at the counter with a warm, professional welcome
What you bring
- At least 1 year of experience cooking basic breakfast items and making espresso drinks
- English & Spanish preferred
- Reliable at 6:30 AM, Saturday through Tuesday, including holidays
- California Food Handler Card, or able to obtain one within 30 days of hire (we help you get it)
- Able to stand for the full shift
Schedule and pay
- Part-time, 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (about 22-25 hours a week), including holidays that fall on those days
- $25.00 per hour, plus an optional $4.25 per hour health benefit payment
- 50% off food at Route 66 Bistro and free coffee during shifts
- Start date: about two weeks after you apply
