Now hiring Senior Statutory Reporting Accountant Summary: Prepares all financial reports, including statutory filings and information, for the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance. Works with external tax accountants to prepare tax work papers and assists with tax requests and filings. Assists with other operational and compliance functions, and reviews the work of staff accountants as required Full Time - Exempt: Yes Job is based Rev Hugh Cooper Admin Center Work hours: Days Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or other equivalent four year degree.
• 4 - 6 years of relevant experience required, preferably in health insurance accounting. CPA desirable

Responsibilities:

• Reconciles and prepares necessary statutory investment schedules quarterly and annually.
• Prepares quarterly and annual statutory financial statements in accordance with NAIC Codification and State prescribed and permitted practices.
• Prepares quarterly tax work papers for external tax group, and performs review of external tax conclusions prior to recording GAAP and Statutory tax entries. Assists in preparing and gathering annual tax requests for the preparation of the annual tax filing with the IRS.
• Prepares annual Medical Loss Ratio and Risk-Based Capital calculations.
• Prepares audited financial statements.
• Responds to inquiries from, and acts as primary contact for, the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance regarding financial results and outcomes.
• Reviews work of staff accountants as required and assists with training and cross-training.
• Performs control test work for the NAIC Model Audit Rule
