This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who wants broader accounting exposure rather than being limited to AP, AR, or another transactional area. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Finance team and gain experience across general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, reporting, fixed assets, budgeting, and audit support. This person will assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close while taking ownership of reconciliations, journal entries, reporting schedules, and other general-ledger responsibilities. Responsibilities Reconcile bank, credit-card, general-ledger, and balance-sheet accounts Prepare journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and annual close Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Prepare financial reports, schedules, and supporting documentation Maintain fixed-asset records and depreciation schedules Assist with budgeting and forecasting Gather documentation and schedules for internal and external audits Follow accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls Research discrepancies and help resolve accounting issues Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, efficiency, and accounting processes Communicate with internal teams, vendors, clients, and outside parties Assist with additional accounting and finance projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience At least three years of professional accounting experience Deltek Costpoint experience preferred Hands-on month-end close experience Strong journal-entry and account-reconciliation experience Working knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting Familiarity with internal controls and audit support Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through Ability to manage multiple priorities and reporting deadlines Professional communication and problem-solving skills Ability to review contracts, procedures, and regulatory requirements Ability to work fully onsite in Rio Rancho Jobot is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
