Fitter/Welder (1st Shift)

NSC Staffing has an immediate opening for 1st shift fitter/welders in Mansfield, TX. Shift: 1st shift, schedule 7a – 3:30p, Monday – Friday. Pay: $18-20/hour depending on experience.

We are seeking dependable and skilled MIG/Flux welders to join our fabrication team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working on unique, made to order metal projects and takes pride in producing strong, clean welds. You will be fabricating everything from structural frames to decorative metalwork, requiring precision, adaptability, and a solid understanding of welding techniques.

Key responsibilities include:

• Perform MIG and Flux Core welding on mild steel, stainless steel, and other metals as required.
• Fit up parts.
• Read and interpret custom fabrication drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Set up welding machines and adjust settings based on material and job specifications.
• Ensure welds meet strength and visual standards for custom applications.
• Conduct quality checks and correct weld defects when necessary.

Duties:

• Prepare metal surfaces and components for welding through grinding, cleaning and fitting.
• Execute welds on custom parts, frames, and assemblies with attention to detail.
• Perform post-weld operations such as grinding, blending and finishing.
• Assist in layout and assembly of custom metal structures.
• Handle both one-off and small-batch production jobs with precision.
