Job Position: Aluminum Welder

Location: ARLINGTON, TX 76010

Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00/hr

1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM Monday-Friday (OT Available)

Description:

Ascend Staffing is hiring experienced Aluminum Welders for our client based in Arlington, TX. The client is a national manufacturer, supplier, and installer of canopies and related components that services all sectors of the Retail Petroleum Industry, from independent oil marketers to major oil companies and large convenience store chains.

Responsibilities:

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications to determine welding requirements.

• Read and follow shop drawings and production schedules to fabricate aluminum components accurately.

• Select appropriate welding equipment, tools, filler metals, and materials for aluminum welding applications.

• Set up and adjust welding machines, including voltage, wire feed speed, gas flow, and other welding parameters.

• Perform MIG welding on aluminum components according to company and customer specifications.

• Fit, align, and assemble aluminum parts prior to welding.

• Monitor welding processes to ensure quality, consistency, and proper penetration.

• Conduct visual inspections of welds to identify defects, discontinuities, or imperfections.

• Inspect completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.

• Perform quality control checks to ensure welded components meet structural, cosmetic, and performance standards.

• Make necessary adjustments and repairs to maintain production quality requirements.

• Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper operation and preventative maintenance.

• Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmets, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of aluminum MIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings (required).

• Experience fitting and assembling aluminum components prior to welding.

• Knowledge of aluminum welding techniques, weld symbols, and quality standards.

• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, and fabrication equipment.

• Experience performing visual weld inspections and maintaining quality standards.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.

• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
