1st Shift Maintenance Technician

Location: Sparta, MI

Shift: 1st Shift (start times between 6:00 AM 8:00 AM; final schedule set during interview)

Compensation: Up to $37/hour

About the Opportunity

Position Overview

This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems within a production environment. The technician will play a key role in reducing downtime, improving equipment performance, and supporting overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electromechanical systems including motors, conveyors, pumps, sensors, and control components
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on production equipment
• Support equipment upgrades, installations, and continuous improvement efforts
• Document maintenance activities and parts usage
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures
• Assist with equipment calibration and testing as needed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including 480V systems, VFDs, and controls
• Experience with PLCs, motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
• Industrial maintenance or electromechanical training/certification preferred
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus
• Strong communication skills and a self-starter mindset

Work Environment
