Description Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide 1:1 support to individuals in structured home environments. Client Needs Range From Low-support PCA-style assistance Skill-building and independence coaching Behavioral regulation support Medical monitoring and seizure support Intensive, exception-rate placements requiring advanced competency This is not a passive companionship role. Staff must be engaged, attentive, and capable of following structured service plans. Essential Responsibilities Provide hands-on assistance with ADLs (dressing, hygiene, toileting, mobility, meals) Support structured daily routines and independence goals Monitor health, seizure activity, and behavioral changes (as assigned) Implement positive support and de-escalation strategies Assist with meal preparation and light household tasks Support community participation and transportation needs Complete accurate and timely SOAP documentation Follow incident reporting and emergency protocols Overnight Shifts (If Assigned) Some placements operate in 24-hour supervision environments. Overnight staff are required to remain awake, alert, and actively monitoring for safety needs throughout the entire shift.
