The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for receiving, processing, and verifying invoices related to accounts payable. Under the direction of the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk monitors company transactions, processes vendor payments, and maintains accurate financial records across multi-company accounts.
Essential Responsibilities
- Daily processing of accounts payable invoices, including matching purchase orders, packing slips, receivers, and invoices.
- Reconcile vendor statements against accounts payable transaction history.
- Research unpaid invoices and correspond professionally with internal staff and external vendors.
- Seek and verify appropriate approvals for all company purchases.
- Perform multi-company and inter-company general ledger coding of invoices.
- Process weekly check runs and perform accurate document filing and scanning.
- Maintain, test, and troubleshoot instrumentation devices as needed.
- Perform additional administrative or financial duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of general accounting or accounts payable experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards, and compliance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- High degree of accuracy, strong attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this role.
Physical Demands
Candidates must be able to perform the following physical tasks:
- Carry, pull, and push up to 25 pounds of weight.
- Climb up and down ladders as required.
- Sit, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, and/or crawl throughout the work shift.
Twist or turn comfortably in confined spaces.
