Cherry Picker / Order Picker Forklift OperatorThis role operates primarily in the receiving department of a busy distribution center, using cherry pickers, forklifts, and RF scanners to safely receive, put away, and pull products for shipping. You will work at height in warehouse racking, handle scientific equipment inventory with care and accuracy, and follow established standard operating procedures to ensure orders are completed correctly and on time.ResponsibilitiesOperate cherry pickers and forklifts in the receiving department to move, store, and retrieve products safely and efficiently.Use RF scanners and warehouse systems to accurately put away incoming products and pull items for outbound shipping.Pick orders throughout the shift, including working at heights of approximately 1520 feet in warehouse racking.Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for receiving, picking, and shipping to maintain consistent workflow and quality.Handle scientific equipment and related products with care to prevent damage and ensure accurate order fulfillment.Perform order selection and inventory tasks, including counting, verifying, and locating products as needed.Operate powered industrial trucks such as reach forklifts and electric pallet jacks as required.Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while completing picking and put-away tasks.Work independently to prioritize tasks, solve problems, and meet daily order completion requirements.Participate in on-the-job training and periodic performance reviews, applying feedback to improve performance.Lift, carry, pull, and push materials weighing up to 4070 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally.Spend most of the shift walking, standing, stooping, bending, and reaching in a fast-paced warehouse environment.Work weekday and weekend overtime as needed to ensure all daily orders are completed.Essential SkillsExperience operating cherry pickers and forklifts in a warehouse or distribution environment.Proficiency using RF scanners and related warehouse systems for picking, put-away, and inventory tasks.Ability to read and write in English to follow work instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.High School Diploma or GED.General warehouse experience, preferably in a picking department.Forklift certification or willingness to obtain a forklift certification, with prior experience operating powered industrial trucks, especially cherry pickers.Preferred experience using computers and scanning equipment in a warehouse setting.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in order picking and inventory handling.Ability to work independently and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.Physical ability to frequently lift, carry, pull, and push 4070 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.Comfort working at heights of approximately 1520 feet in warehouse racking.Willingness to work weekday and weekend overtime as required.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience as an order selector, picker, or reach forklift operator.Experience operating electric pallet jacks in a distribution or warehouse environment.Prior work in a distribution center handling scientific equipment or similar products.Comfort working in a team-based environment with receiving, picking, and shipping functions.Openness to ongoing training and performance feedback to continuously improve skills.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and order volumes in a fast-paced environment.Why Work Here?You join a workplace that actively supports your growth and safety. The facility has a team of approximately 100120 people, organized into receiving, picking, and shipping teams. You will primarily work in the receiving and picking areas, operating cherry pickers, forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks, and using RF scanners and computer-based systems throughout your shift. The racking extends approximately 1520 feet high, and you will spend much of your time picking orders at height, so comfort working elevated is essential. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with employees often working 10-hour days earlier in the week and averaging about 45 hours, staying until daily orders are complete. The work is physically demanding and involves frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and reaching, as well as regular lifting of 4070 pounds and occasional lifting up to 100 pounds. You will be recertified on forklifts as part of the onboarding process, and the environment emphasizes safety, accuracy, and teamwork.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bath, PA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
