Assistant Controller

Coda Search is partnering with a rapidly expanding real estate private equity firm to hire an Assistant Controller. Key Responsibilities Oversee the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Assist with preparing schedules, expense allocations, and preparing adjusting journal entries. Manage general ledger reconciliations, including accruals, prepaids, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing key financial insights to senior leadership. Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures to maintain financial integrity. Coordinate with external auditors and tax teams to facilitate annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting. Support process improvement initiatives, including automation of accounting functions and implementation of new systems. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA highly preferred). 5+ years of experience, ideally with a public/private firm. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables). Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial compliance.
