About the Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to Medical Oncology patients including those with solid tumors (lung, breast, pancreatic) and BMT/hematologic diagnoses such as leukemia; average patient stay of 3-5 days
• Perform IV starts, access ports and central lines, and provide trach care; no ventilator management required
• Administer post-treatment care; chemotherapy administration by qualified personnel only ( ONS/chemotherapy certification required to administer chemo )
• Operate CAD pumps and other specialized equipment as required by the unit
• Float within the oncology service line as needed to meet facility staffing needs
• Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records

• Active RN license in Missouri or a qualifying compact state (must match permanent residence); Illinois license must be in hand at time of submittal
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required (must be obtained by compliance document deadline)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Must pass Relias EKG exam; interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
• Must live more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible

• BSN preferred
• Experience with bone marrow transplant (BMT) or stem cell transplantation
• Prior experience in a Magnet-designated or Level I Trauma teaching hospital environment
• Familiarity with chemotherapy administration protocols and infusion care

• Opportunity to work at a large, Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching facility with a robust oncology and BMT program
• Expected schedule of 3 shifts per week with every-other-weekend commitment; no on-call requirement
