Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher working full-time with a small group of elementary students in an engaging and supportive classroom environment. This role offers you the chance to make a direct impact in the lives of students who will benefit from your expertise and individualized instruction.
Your classroom will consist of just five students in grades 3-4, allowing for focused and meaningful learning experiences. The assignment runs from August 26, 2026, through June 3, 2027, providing stability for both you and your students throughout the school year. The workday runs from 8:40 AM to 3:25 PM, perfectly aligned with a traditional school schedule.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid and active Special Education licensure and certification in Illinois
- Prior experience in a school-based setting
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs and specialized instruction
- Effective classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for fostering inclusive, positive educational environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction in a dedicated special education classroom for grades 3-4
- Adapt curriculum to meet each student’s needs, emphasizing differentiation and individualized supports
- Collaborate with related service providers, general education staff, and families
- Use data-driven strategies to assess progress and inform instruction
- Document all classroom and IEP-related activities accurately and in a timely manner
