Special Education Teacher (LBS1) – Junior High Maternity Leave Coverage
Location: Oak Prairie Junior High School – Homer Glen, Illinois
Schedule: Full-Time (7:30 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday)
Assignment Dates: August 17, 2026 – November 20, 2026
Grade Levels: Junior High (7th–8th Grade)
ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to provide maternity leave coverage at a Junior High School in Homer Glen, Illinois . This full-time opportunity is ideal for educators who enjoy collaborating with general education teachers in an inclusive classroom setting while supporting junior high students through co-teaching and accommodations.
Position Overview
The Special Education Teacher will work in a co-teaching model within general education science classrooms, ensuring students receive the accommodations and support outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Responsibilities include modifying assignments and assessments, monitoring student progress, and collaborating closely with classroom teachers.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide special education support within general education science classrooms
- Ensure IEP accommodations and modifications are implemented with fidelity
- Modify classroom assignments, tests, and instructional materials as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success
- Monitor student progress toward IEP goals
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and district requirements
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 Certification
- Previous experience in a co-teaching or inclusion setting preferred
- Strong collaboration, communication, and classroom management skills
