This position plays a critical role in maintaining healthy cash flow by monitoring outstanding receivables, following up on past-due balances, and maintaining accurate customer account records. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will work closely with customers, Operations, Sales, Project Managers, and the Finance Department to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure invoices are processed and collected accurately and efficiently. Ensures legal requirements and compliance with accounting regulations, paying close attention to detail and accuracy. This position requires reliability and professionalism, a high-level of communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently as well as with a team.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Receivable & CollectionsGenerate accurate invoices and submit them to customers in a timely mannerMonitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on past-due balancesCommunicate with customers to resolve billing questions, discrepancies, and payment issuesMaintain clear documentation of collection efforts and customer communicationsCompliance & AccuracyEnsure AR processes align with company policies and accounting best practicesMaintain accurate customer records, payment terms, and contact informationSupport audits and internal reviews by providing requested documentationProtect confidential financial and customer informationCollaboration & SupportWork closely with internal departments to resolve invoicing or contract-related issuesEscalate delinquent accounts in accordance with company collections proceduresAssist with month-end close activities related to accounts receivableProvide backup support for other accounting projects as neededQualifications2+ years of accounts receivable, billing, or collections experience requiredStrong understanding of accounts receivable processes, customer payments, and collectionsStrong attention to detail and accuracyHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentialityExcellent customer service, professional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independentlyProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, NetSuite or similar)Experience in construction, maintenance, or service-based industries preferredAbility to receive direction and communicate respectfully with othersFINNMARK Property Services is committed to affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, and workplace diversity.
