Senior Accountant (Part-Time)
Employer: Association Associates, Inc. (AAI)
Location : Hamilton, NJ
Schedule: Approximately 15–20 hours per week. Workload varies throughout the month and year based on financial reporting deadlines.
About the Role
Association Associates, Inc. (AAI), the management company that provides executive and administrative services to BioNJ, is seeking an experienced Senior Part-Time Accountant. This position will support BioNJ, New Jersey’s life sciences trade association, and is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys flexible part-time work while contributing during key financial reporting periods.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.
· Reconcile deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, and other key accounts.
· Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
· Prepare Board and Finance Committee financial packages.
· Support the annual audit and Form 990 preparation.
· Prepare tax estimates and recommend accounting process improvements.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
· 7–10 years of accounting experience preferred.
· CPA preferred.
· QuickBooks experience required; QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise strongly preferred.
· Nonprofit or association accounting experience (501(c)(6) preferred).
· Strong Excel skills and knowledge of GAAP.
Availability Requirements
While this is a part-time position, candidates must be available during month-end and year-end close, budget preparation, Board and Finance Committee reporting cycles, and the annual audit. Flexibility to increase hours during these peak periods is essential.
