Senior Accountant - Hybrid

Our client, a major construction and technology firm, is adding a senior accountant to their team in Princeton, NJ. Responsibilities:

• Monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process
• Analytical functions
• Analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and equity transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing general accounting support for financed and non-financed projects
• Providing accurate general ledger account coding for projects
• Support the corporate accounting teams with ad hoc requests, including fixed asset form preparation
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly unaudited and annual audited financial statements of multiple projects in accordance with GAAP and ownership agreements, which include tax equity and cash equity ownership
• Collaboration with other technical accounting professionals
• Assist with researching technical accounting and reporting matters, accounting principles, and financial reporting rules
• Coordination with members of the Asset Management team on understanding and explaining to management the financial performance of the projects
• CPA is a big plus
• 2+ years of experience in national public accounting audit with commercial clients &/or 3 + years large company corporate accounting; Ideal profile is 1-2 years public and ~2 years private is ideal but will consider straight private or public
• Coachable with a willingness to learn
• Strong communication and presentation skills - someone who can business partner with managers outside of accounting
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with month end close, balance sheet account reconciliations & preparing or reviewing financial statements
• S4 HANA is a plus

• The role will touch a lot of different areas of accounting & will learn S 4 Hana which they recently implemented

• Exposure to complicated ownership structures (tax equity and cash equity partnerships)
