STEWARDING SUPERVISOR PM

Welcome to AT&T Hotel and Conference Center Stewarding Team! Join us to assist in daily operations and planning of the Stewarding/Dishwashing team. This role coordinates coverage and flow of stewarding operations with Culinary and Banquet teams. Bilingual candidates (EN/SP/Arabic) are highly preferred. Open/full-time availability is required, from 6 AM for morning shifts to 11 PM for afternoon shifts. Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose Oversee day-to-day AM & PM operations, including: Dish pit operations Ensure temperature control logs are filled out timely and accurately. Ensure machine cleaning schedule is being adhered to. Cleaning projects Ensure ice machine, walk-in cooler and freezer, deep fryers, and alto-sham oven cleaning schedules are adhered to. Culinary support Coordinate with appropriate sous chefs regarding equipment needs for banquet events and daily operations. Ensure hot boxes are in correct location, labelled, hot, and clean when needed. Banquet and Carillon Restaurant food running Ensure proper and timely labelling of hot boxes and speed racks. Adhere to timing and drop-off location standards set by the Executive Steward and Banquet Managers. Banquet event planning with Banquet Managers Ensure banquet pull sheets are filled before every event. Meet daily with Banquet Managers to ensure efficient operations, including: Plate-up stations Queen Mary needs and locations Food timing and chafer needs Manage stewarding staff on a daily and general basis Conduct stewarding stand-up meetings. Manage break times. Essential Functions Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, ASI, Health Department). Manage all equipment, china, glass, and silver, ensuring adequate supplies. Implement Flik Safety Standards. Enforce proper use and cleaning of all dish-room machinery. Enforce proper cleaning routines for service ware, equipment, floors, etc. Assist in conducting inventories of china, glass, and silver. Ensure utility staff is properly trained on sanitation, equipment handling, and chemical usage. Train associates in safety procedures. Investigate feedback to individuals based on observation of service behaviors. Emphasize guest satisfaction during departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement. Communicate performance expectations per job descriptions for each position. Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with associates. Solicit associate feedback. Participate in associate progressive discipline procedures. Publicly recognize team member contributions. Participate in the management of department’s controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals. Understand the impact of departmental operations on overall hotel financial goals and objectives. Ensure all food holding and transport equipment is in working order. Supervise associates' adherence to loss prevention policies. Strive to improve service performance. Review associate satisfaction results to identify and address problems or concerns. Ensure hotel policies are administered fairly and consistently. Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure efficient service and conformance to standards. Control inventories of food, equipment, small ware, and report shortages. Supportive Functions All other reasonable requests as required. Attend meetings and communicate with executive, peers, and subordinates to maintain quality of service. Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. Supervise and manage associates; understand associate positions well enough to perform duties in their absence. Provide leadership, vision, and direction to prioritize departmental goals efficiently and effectively. Ensure and maintain productivity levels of associates. Monitor inflow of ordered materials and maintenance of current materials. Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors. Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, standards, and meeting customer expectations. Assist in recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting associates. Assist in achieving and exceeding goals, including performance goals, budget goals, team goals. Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members. Inform and update executives, peers, and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner. Other Duties Assimilate into the AT&T Hotel & Conference Center Family PLATINUM SERVICE culture. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards established by Flik from time to time is essential for successful performance. Mandate adherence to the Platinum Service process daily, including Platinum Service Standards, Guest Elements of Customer Service, and the “To Be” Philosophy. Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example. Be able to arrive on time and when scheduled. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Be flexible concerning scheduling needs and requirements. Basic math skills. Obtain and ensure appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed for certain tasks. Determine the kinds of tools and equipment needed for a job. Perform routine maintenance on mechanical or technological equipment and determine when and what maintenance is needed. Knowledge of practices and procedures needed to maintain materials, equipment, and supplies, including vendor identification, contract negotiation, supply requisition, purchasing, and inventory control (e.g., accounting and budgeting). Experience, Licenses, or Certificates 2–4 years’ experience in supervisory duties, including food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area. Benefits Paid vacation days (after 90 days).
