Role Description
Zurich is currently looking for a RCIS Crop Claims Field Adjuster I or a Crop Claims Specialist to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week, with approximately 50% travel expected to cover the territory.
The ideal candidate will need to live and service within the following counties:
- Kansas: Hamilton, Kearney, Finney, Hodgeman, Stanton, Grant, Haskell, Gray, Ford, Morton, Stevens, Seward, Meade, Clark
- Oklahoma: Cimarron, Texas, Beaver, Harper
As a Crop Claims Field Adjuster and Crop Claims Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Completing field inspections and related responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Reading maps and aerial photos, measuring fields and storage bins.
- Discussing findings of crop loss with farmers on complex, non-routine claims.
- Conveying complex regulations and interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry personnel.
- Performing fact-finding regarding crop damage and recording information.
- Transmitting loss information to accurately determine potential indemnities.
- Gathering relevant facts, utilizing applicable law, and establishing basic principles of negligence.
- Completing claim reviews and audits on lower-level adjusters as assigned.
- Ensuring legal compliance by maintaining a strong working knowledge of regulatory and company policies.
- Contributing to team efforts by accomplishing related results and participating in projects as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- 6 or more months of experience in the agricultural area for Crop Claims Field Adjuster I.
- 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance industry for Crop Claims Specialist.
- Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be obtained within 180 days of hire date.
- Reliable personal transportation and travel within territory.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Requirements
- Physical requirements: walk in agricultural fields up to 3 miles, climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet, lift 25 lbs. to 50 lbs., work outdoors in varying temperatures/weather conditions.
