Assembler
$22 - $26 per hourThe Assembler installs units, parts, equipment, and components into structural assemblies for aerospace applications by following blueprints and specifications and using a variety of hand and power tools. This role ensures all assemblies meet fit, performance, and quality standards through precise measurement, alignment, and testing.
Responsibilities- Install units, parts, equipment, and components in structural assemblies according to blueprints and specifications using hand tools and power tools.
- Bolt, screw, or rivet accessories to fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies securely.
- Drill holes in structures and subassemblies and attach brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installations or fasten subassemblies.
- Locate and mark reference points and holes for installation of parts and components using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
- Inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment for proper fit, performance, and compliance with standards using measuring instruments and test equipment.
- Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures using measuring instruments and following blueprint lines and index points.
- Cut, trim, and file parts and verify fitting tolerances to prepare components for installation.
- Install bushings using liquid nitrogen or presses as required by the job specifications.
- Apply sealants or paint according to customer specifications while using appropriate safety devices and following safety procedures.
- Operate shop equipment such as C-squeeze tools, arbor presses, ground stud pullers, cherry pullers, and standard shop hand tools to complete assembly operations.
- Follow written work instructions and production documentation accurately to ensure consistent quality and compliance.
- Perform basic wiring, electrical, and electronic assembly tasks as needed to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies.
- Support assembly line and general labor tasks related to production of aerospace structural components.
- Assembly experience at one of the following levels: level 1 requires at least 6 months of assembly experience, level 2 requires at least 1 year of assembly experience, and level 3 requires at least 3 years of assembly experience.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly in a production environment.
- Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly work.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work from specifications.
- Basic math skills to perform measurements and verify tolerances.
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions accurately.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows for accessing and following digital work instructions or documentation.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components and structures.
- Ability to perform wiring, electrical, and electronic assembly tasks as required.
- Experience working on assembly lines or in a structured production environment.
- Ability to work safely with shop equipment such as presses and specialized aerospace assembly tools.
- Aerospace assembly experience is preferred and considered a strong asset.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing or structural assembly environments.
- Exposure to electrical assembly and electronic assembly processes.
- General labor experience in a manufacturing or machine shop setting.
- Comfort working with sealants, paints, and related materials while following safety protocols.
- Ability to work across different shift schedules as needed by the facility.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a machine shop that manufactures structural parts for aerospace, using specialized tools and equipment such as C-squeeze tools, arbor presses, ground stud pullers, cherry pullers, and standard shop hand tools. At the AMT location, the 1st shift runs Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and the 2nd shift runs Monday through Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. At the Damar location, the 1st shift runs Monday through Friday from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The environment is production-focused and involves working around machinery, handling mechanical and electrical components, and following safety procedures when using liquid nitrogen, presses, sealants, and paints.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
