Academic Tutor & Mentor

As an Academic Tutor & Mentor with City Year in the Educational Services industry, you will support students in public schools through targeted academic tutoring and holistic mentoring. Serving within the Education, Training & E-Learning department, you’ll work full-time on campus to provide one-on-one and small-group support in core subjects, assist teachers in the classroom, and foster students’ social-emotional growth. City Year is a national nonprofit that partners with public schools to help students and schools succeed by placing diverse teams of AmeriCorps members in classrooms. You’ll join a collaborative, inclusive culture focused on social justice, leadership development, and personal growth. In this role, you will track student progress, help create a positive school climate, and collaborate with teammates, school staff, and families to boost attendance, engagement, and academic achievement. This position offers robust training, ongoing coaching, and hands-on experience in education and youth development, preparing you for future careers in teaching, social work, or community-based service while making a meaningful impact every day.
