Clinical Assistant Professor

Overview The Department of Occupational Therapy at East Carolina University’s College of Allied Health Sciences offers dual entry-level graduate programs: a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (MSOT) and a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD). The MSOT and OTD programs operate concurrently, admitting a cohort of 26 students each year, with approximately one‑third of the MSOT cohort transitioning to the OTD program after the second semester. The department houses five teaching laboratories, a pro‑bono Student‑Run Clinic, and advanced instructional resources such as a 3D printing station, classroom video capture, an Anatomage table, a virtual reality lab, and a fully integrated video management system. Located in Greenville, North Carolina, the department benefits from a collaborative environment within the School of Health Sciences and proximity to the ECU Health Medical Center. Job Duties Serve as Academic Fieldwork Coordinator for the MSOT and OTD programs, overseeing fieldwork in accordance with ACOTE standards. Manage the fieldwork component of the graduate programs. Teach graduate courses, including fieldwork‑specific and other related courses. Advise graduate students on academic and professional development. Participate in scholarly activities and provide service to the university and the profession. Qualifications Occupational therapist holding an earned doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related field (PhD, ScD, EdD, DHSc, DSc, OTD, DrOT). Minimum five years of occupational therapy experience, including clinical practice and experience as a fieldwork educator or in a comparable training role. Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice as an occupational therapist in North Carolina. Preferred Experience and Skills Teaching experience in occupational therapy. Experience as an academic fieldwork coordinator. Familiarity with fieldwork management systems. Salary & Benefits Anticipated recruitment range: Salary may vary based on budget, UNC salary administration, and/or candidate qualifications. Position is a 12‑month fixed‑term permanent faculty appointment. Salary commensurate with qualifications.
