Job Summary
The position of Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) is located in San Francisco, California. This role involves providing specialized nursing care within the cardiac diagnostic and interventional catheterization procedures. Candidates are required to bring their California nursing license on the first day of shift. The assignment is scheduled to start on July 21, 2026, and involves 10-hour day shifts with variable start times.

Job Details

• Location: San Francisco, California
• Schedule: 10-hour days with variable start times, minimum of 40 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid California RN license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, minimum of 1-year experience in Catheterization Laboratory (Cath Lab) or Interventional Radiology (IR), 3-5 years combined experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Coronary Care Unit (CCU), and/or Cath Lab, 5 or more years of clinic nursing experience; knowledge of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac catheterization procedures including equipment, accessories, surgical techniques, sterile procedures, and patient management; prior travel experience within the last 12 months; experience with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Preferred Qualifications: Prior teaching hospital experience.
• Certifications and Skills: Proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations (adult), interpretation/management of dysrhythmias, monitoring of procedural sedation, pulmonary artery line/Swan-Ganz monitoring, left and right heart catheterizations, procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Additional Information: All RN positions require a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Candidates must have completed modules during pre-start and annually, as recorded on the UC Learning website.
• COVID-19 Vaccination/Booster: Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster is mandatory, with no exceptions. Candidates must provide proof of vaccination and scheduled booster appointment if not yet received.
• Float Policy: Resources may be reassigned within a 75+ mile radius to different departments or units if qualifications are met.
• Submission Notes: Candidates must have completed prior travel within 12 months and possess prior teaching hospital experience.
