Job Title: Insurance Defense Litigation Paralegal

Location: New Orleans LA 70139

Salary/Payrate: $65-75K

Work Environment: On-Site

Term: Fulltime

Bachelor’s degree required: No

Referral Fee: AMS will pay $500 should the person you refer gets hired

Job Description:

Great law firm in New Orleans is looking to hire an Insurance Defense Paralegal. Supporting 2-3 attorneys. 100% onsite.

Job Responsibilities

Support firm operations with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Manage discovery, including drafting responses to interrogatories, requests for production, subpoenas, and other pleadings.
Conduct investigations and fact development.
Procure and organize medical, employment, and other biographical records in compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
Prepare detailed chronologies, summaries, and reports for attorney use and client reporting.
Schedule and coordinate independent medical examinations and expert document review, including organization and identification of relevant submission materials.
Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including exhibit organization, witness coordination, and other support.

Requirements

Paralegal certificate, associate degree, bachelor's degree, or comparable education and training in a related field.
3–5 years of experience as a billable timekeeper in insurance defense litigation, civil litigation, or a comparable legal environment.
Strong organizational, analytical, and oral/written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing competing deadlines.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other industry-standard legal software.
