Pathology Medical Director OpportunityHCA Healthcare Pathology Services and their West Florida Division is seeking a Pathology Medical Director to be based at HCA Florida Blake Hospital which is located in Bradenton, Florida about 45 miles south of Tampa in the Sarasota metropolitan area. Among our top priorities is employing the best talent to advance care for our patients.Qualified Candidates:AP/CP certification is requiredAt least three years of hospital-based experience is preferredProficiency in general surgical pathology, clinical interpretations, and must have recent experience performing frozen sectionsSubspecialty training or expertise in breast or lung pathology ideal but not requiredThe successful candidate must work cooperatively within diverse environments, have excellent interpersonal skills, and successfully establish and maintain positive relationships with hospital medical staff, technical staff and referring physiciansActive Florida Medical License and/or FCVS is a plusPathology Volume/Cases:Volumes – approximately 3,100 surgical cases per year and 200 cytology cases per year, 9 to 10 procedures per week, and 15-20 peripheral smears per weekProcedures – Frozen sections for sentinel nodes, lungs, ortho PMN counts, skin, brain. ROSE for lungsBlake has approximately 380 beds with a Level II Trauma Center and Burn Center.
