School Occupational Therapist - Destrehan, Louisiana

Job Description

Make an impact supporting students’ growth by providing Occupational Therapy services across a diverse K-12 setting. This onsite contract opportunity is located near Destrehan, LA, and spans the current school year through late May 2027. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, deliver services to a large, varied caseload, and play a key part in improving students’ participation in academic and daily school activities.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and active Occupational Therapy (OT) state license
  • Experience delivering OT interventions, ideally in K-12 school environments
  • Comfortable with an itinerant model, traveling between schools as needed
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload of 75-100 students, serving all grade levels
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive environment for students of all abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite OT evaluations and ongoing therapy for students across multiple schools
  • Develop individualized plans and adapt interventions in coordination with teachers and other education staff
  • Track and report progress to IEP teams, meeting all required compliance and documentation standards
  • Educate families and staff on strategies to support students’ functional independence
  • Contribute to a collaborative and dynamic school-based therapy team
  • Adjust to changing schedules and locations, maintaining high standards of care and professionalism

Enjoy a structured Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, allowing for work-life balance and consistent support for students and staff.
