Labor and Employment Associate

A leading top 100 national law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate to join its New York office, working closely with a highly regarded hospitality-focused practice. This team represents some of New York’s most well-known restaurants, boutique hotels, and entertainment and nightlife venues, offering a unique and dynamic client base.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day employment counseling to hospitality clients
• Advise on wage and hour matters, discrimination claims, and general employment law issues
• Handle litigation, including acting as first chair on discrimination and wage and hour cases
• Manage and support class action wage and hour litigation
• Counsel clients on New York State and New York City employment laws
• Assist with labor relations matters within the hospitality sector

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) required
• Admission to the New York State Bar required
• 4–8 years of Labor & Employment experience
• Strong academic credentials
• Excellent research and writing skills
• Experience serving as first chair on discrimination and/or wage and hour litigation
• Class action wage and hour litigation experience (required)
• Experience advising on New York State and New York City employment matters
• Exposure to labor relations in the hospitality industry (preferred)
• Familiarity with the New York State Hospitality Wage Order (strongly preferred)
