Finishing Operator - 2nd Shift

Production Line OperatorThe Production Line Operator is a versatile team member responsible for safe, efficient, and high-quality operation across the saw line, paint booth, and finishing areas. This role offers opportunities to learn all production positions, with progression through skill levels and increased responsibilities. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and commitment to safety and quality are essential.Shift: Monday-Thursday (6pm-4am) with the possibility of overtimeSchedule may vary due to production needsCompensation: $20.00/hour + $3.00 shift differentialSaw Line OperationOperate and monitor saw line equipment to cut and process work-in-progress (WIP) panels.Perform routine quality checks to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality.Conduct basic maintenance such as blade inspection, replacement, and minor adjustments.Record production data and complete shift documentation accurately.Paint Booth OperationOperate and maintain paint booth equipment for applying coatings and finishes.Monitor booth environment and paint application to meet quality and industry standards.Inspect finished products for paint defects (thickness, coverage, chips, appearance).Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of paint equipment.Product Grading, Stacking & PackagingInspect siding boards, panels, or finished products for defects, assign grades, and flag items for rework or disposal.Stack finished products correctly using protective materials to prevent damage.Prepare bundles or pallets for storage or shipment with accurate counts and labeling.Assist with packaging line operations and material handling as needed.QualificationsMinimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.Ability to operate forklifts, aerial lifts, and other material handling equipment safely.Strong attention to detail, quality control awareness, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Familiarity with industrial finishing and production processes.Physical Working ConditionsAbility to stand and walk for long periods (up to 12 hours).Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 30- 50 lbs.Exposure to dust, noise, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to chemicals (paints, solvents)Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) protection when required.Fast-paced, production floor environment requiring attention to safety and detail.Saint-Gobain provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. In addition to the hourly base pay rate, this position is eligible for periodic bonus payments/an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount can be up to 0-7% of the hourly rate based on company and individual performance measures.
