Purchasing Agent

About Us InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is part of the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts group, the largest family of luxury hotels worldwide. We are looking for a Purchasing Agent to join our professional team. Your Day to Day People Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. Guest Experience Determine and maintain hotel inventory levels as specified; complete timely and accurate month‑end inventories. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas and storerooms. Responsible Business Handle receiving of deliveries and ensure that goods received are in compliance with purchase orders in terms of items, quality, quantity, price and specifications. Maintain records of all partial deliveries and backorders. Ensure proper notations are made concerning short‑shipped items. Ensure storeroom areas are kept clean, well‑organized and secure to prevent pilferage and to minimize damage and spoilage. Based on Birchstreet requisitions from various departments, issue items requested in accordance with predetermined timetables. Ensure that all documentation for goods received, issued and transferred is accurate and complete and is promptly passed on to the accounting department for processing. Work with all department heads and managers to provide information about status of goods requested and assist them in their departments. Strive to improve the quality of the company's product while minimizing costs in all areas. Other duties may be assigned. What We Need From You High school diploma or equivalent and one year experience in a purchasing department or relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must speak fluent English; other languages preferred. Physical Requirements Frequently standing up or moving around the facility. Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 100 pounds. Handling objects and boxes. Stooping, kneeling and reaching. Additional Skills Communication skills are frequently utilized when interacting with clients, guests and employees. Reading and writing abilities are often used. Basic math skills are used frequently. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. What We Offer The hourly pay range for this role is $26.10 to $32.63 . The range may be modified in the future and depends on factors such as education, qualifications, experience, seniority, geographic location and performance.
