Steward - Purchasing Clerk

Essential Job Functions

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of loading dock, central warehouse, and office areas.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and distributing inventory to departments as needed.
• Ensure all culinary and beverage equipment is clean, organized, and operational.
• Support kitchen and banquet teams by preparing and transporting items as required.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and delivery personnel.
• Assist with waste management, recycling, and sanitation practices.
• Follow all hotel safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the Culinary department.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or culinary experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with vendors and team members.
• Ability to lift, bend, and carry up to 70 pounds regularly.
• Able to work in a standing position for extended periods.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with excellent customer service skills.
• Proficient with computers and email communication with vendors and department leads.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a full-service, professional hotel environment. Stewards regularly use dollies and flat carts to distribute products to all departments. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent standing, walking, and use of hands/fingers to handle objects.
• Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Frequent lifting of objects up to 10 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 70 pounds.
• Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
