Quality Technician II – Kalamazoo, MI

Pay: Up to $28/hour

1 st Shift: Monday – Thursday 6AM – 4PM

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician II to perform independent inspections, support root cause investigations, and ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect CNC machined parts (in-process, final, and receiving)
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and GD&T requirements
• Perform First Article Inspections (AS9102)
• Review routers, travelers, and work orders for accuracy
• Utilize inspection tools including comparators, surface plates, gauges, and basic CMM equipment
• Investigate nonconforming materials; support MRB and corrective actions
• Verify certifications, documentation, and compliance requirements
• Support internal and external audits
• Mentor and guide junior quality staff
• Collaborate across departments to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with FAA, customer, and AS9100 standards
• Create inspection plans, balloon drawings, and select appropriate gaging methods

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred
• 3–5 years of experience in aerospace or precision inspection
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading
• Experience working with ERP systems preferred
• Familiarity with AS9100 and AS9102 standards
