Job Title: Integris SW-EVS Technician (1st Shift Housekeeper/Janitor)

Job Description

This role provides essential environmental services in a hospital setting, focusing on housekeeping, janitorial duties, and linen and trash handling to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The position requires consistent physical activity, strict adherence to safety and cleanliness standards, and professional interaction with a diverse group of people throughout each shift.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash and soiled linen from designated hospital areas throughout the entire shift.

• Place linens into large, heavy bags and safely lift and load them into the linen chute.

• Clean and sanitize hospital rooms according to strict safety and infection-control procedures.

• Thoroughly mop floors using a string mop and ensure all surfaces in patient rooms and common areas are cleaned and disinfected.

• Handle soiled linen in accordance with established protocols and dispose of it properly.

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness in hallways, restrooms, and other hospital facilities.

• Follow all hospital safety measures, including the correct use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

• Provide excellent customer service when interacting with patients, visitors, doctors, and other staff.

• Demonstrate a professional, positive attitude and a strong work ethic during all shifts.

• Work independently with minimal supervision, managing time and tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Adhere to assigned schedules, including rotating weekends, and maintain reliable attendance.

• Report any maintenance or safety issues observed during cleaning to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• Previous housekeeping experience of any kind, such as in hospitals, hotels, or nursing homes.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds over an 8-hour shift.

• Experience performing janitorial tasks, including cleaning, mopping, and trash removal.

• Ability to handle soiled linen safely and follow proper disposal procedures.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with a large and diverse demographic.

• Demonstrated ability to work a full shift performing continuous physical tasks.

• Self-motivated, dedicated worker with a good attitude and strong sense of responsibility.

• Willingness and availability to work rotating weekends.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality, recognizing that attendance is critical for this role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Housekeeping experience specifically in hospital environments.

• Linen-handling experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting.

• Prior experience managing trash collection and disposal in a commercial or institutional facility.

• Bilingual communication skills, which are helpful when interacting with a diverse population.

• Experience working in fast-paced environments with minimal supervision.

Work Environment

The position is based in a hospital environment with direct interaction with doctors, patients, visitors, and other staff members. The role follows a 1st shift schedule, typically working from 5:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on some days and from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on others, for a total of five days per week with rotating weekends. The work is fast paced and physically demanding, requiring continuous movement, lifting, and handling of heavy linen bags and cleaning equipment throughout the shift. You will use standard janitorial tools, such as string mops and cleaning supplies, while adhering to strict hospital safety and cleanliness standards. The position involves minimal direct supervision, so you will need to be a self-starter with a professional demeanor, strong customer service focus, and consistent, dependable attendance.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of OKLAHOMA CITY, OK.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
