Payroll Accountant
The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Centers make a difference in people's lives. Through the collection and resale of gently used goods we are able to provide the financial support to assist men and women with a variety of social and spiritual afflictions. The in-residence rehabilitation program focuses on basic necessities with every man or woman being provided a clean and healthy living environment, good food, work therapy, leisure time activities, group and individual counseling, and spiritual direction. All our effort is focused on developing life skills and a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ. More than just a job, each member of the team contributes to recycling goods that literally recycle and repair broken lives.
ARC Command Headquarters is seeking a Payroll Accountant to support the ARCC Accountant with various payroll and accounting functions.
Responsibilities
Position responsibilities include maintaining payroll files, entering information into the Paychex and/or UKG system, receiving and maintaining attendance records, auditing eligibility/payment of paid absences, processing payroll. The Payroll Accountant will process Officer allowance forms for approval, prepare any needed hand checks, maintain file of housekeeping vouchers, review Paychex/UKG reports and W-2's for accuracy, compute Christmas bonuses, and act as custodian for secondary petty cash fund. The Payroll Accountant will also be responsible to balance payroll, reconcile Paychex records regarding health and voluntary benefits, and complete quarterly pension remittance forms. The Payroll Accountant will complete monthly operating bank reconciliation, process monthly and annual mileage logs, approve credit card transactions as directed, attend training conferences as requested and be back up to the ARCC Accountant.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 5 years' experience in payroll/accounting or similar position, have excellent attention to detail, excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and hold a high regard for and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Experience with UKG is preferred.
