As a partner to major cruise lines, we source and curate products from world-renowned brands, as well as locally owned artisans, so that we can provide cruise guests with exciting shopping experiences.The Planning Coordinator is a crucial role that works closely with our Inventory Planning and Logistics teams, in conjunction with our vendor community, to facilitate timely merchandise availability. This individual will support multiple categories of business by partnering with their corresponding Planning and Distribution teams and in the future will be part of a small pool of global planning coordinators. The key components are creating and modifying purchase orders, tracking shipments, maintaining order files, communicating with vendors and internal teams to resolve shipping issues, and providing reports and analysis to support decision making.What You'll Be Doing:Essential duties and responsibilities include:Processing purchase orders for multiple categories of businessDaily tracking of all shipments from vendor to distribution center and/or direct to shipPartnering with vendor community and Starboard's Logistics and Transportation team to ensure timely shipment of orders and to ensure vendors are complying with shipping guidelinesWorking with vendors, Merchandising & Planning teams and Logistics to resolve any issues related to performance and/or inbound flow of goodsReporting (run data queries, prepare reporting, and communicate findings and actions)Weekly – internal dept. meetingsMonthly – to key vendors as identifiedManaging vendor inquiriesEnsuring cross departmental communication to resolve outstanding issuesCommunication and collaboration responsibilities include:Identifying and communicating opportunities to maximize order tracking and vendor complianceConsistently communicating anticipated purchase order challenges and possible solutions to all stakeholdersAttending and actively participating in weekly meetings with planning team to discuss strategies and priorities. Presenting all findings, suggestions and business opportunities to the teamSupporting new vendors by providing packaging, documentation and routing guidelines to ensure proper shipping requirements are followed and potential delays are avoidedAssisting with other Planning & Distribution team projects and category specific tasks as neededInterpersonal management responsibilities include:Building a reputation as a positive contributor within Starboard in all interrelations and communication.Acquiring knowledge from departments within the organization to gain an understanding of Starboard processes and key business partners.Leveraging interpersonal relationships to accomplish day-to-day needsWhat We're Looking For:Qualifications include:1 -2 Years of ExperienceHigh School or Equivalent requiredKnowledge, skills and abilities include:Minimum 1-2 years retail experience in a fast-paced environment preferredCollege degree or equivalent experienceStrong communication skills, both written and verbalMS Office with advanced proficiency with Excel including the use of pivot tables and formulasAbility to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environmentDecision making responsibilities include:Duties and activities reviewed periodically. Supervisor monitors work progress and determines actions on unusual items. Moderate level of problem solving ability.Other responsibilities include:Position type/expected hours of work: Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.Physical demands: Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
