Medical AssistantWhen you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you're making a difference in people's lives.The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to the Urology team to ensure safe, efficient, and high quality patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vital signs and medical histories, preparing examination and procedure rooms, assisting providers during office based procedures including cystoscopies, vasectomies, prostate biopsies, and other urologic procedures, processing specimens, coordinating patient care, and completing clinical documentation. The Medical Assistant works collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other team members to maintain efficient patient flow and deliver an excellent patient experience. This position requires flexibility to rotate between the Burlington and Peabody urology clinics based on operational and staffing needs.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesClinical Considerations and Decision Making: Ways in which the MA comes to understand the problems, issues or concerns of patients/families, to attend to relevant/critical information and to respond in concerned and involved ways.Collaborative Relationship: Collaborates, cooperates, and communicates with other health care personnel to ensure quality and continuity of care.Clinical Guidance: The MA, within the scope of his/her practice and department specific skills, is responsible for the nature and quality of care they provide for patients.Clinical/Direct patient care (The procedures performed may vary from practice to practice based on specialties, department's staffing model and/or patient population.)Greets, identifies, transports and/or escorts patients to exam room.Prepares patient for examination.Assists the provider with the patient visit and care as required.Clinical and Quality/Improvement Competency.Non-Clinical/Indirect patient carePre-visit planning.Post visit work.Assists in the maintenance of the EMR.Communication.Administrative Support.Organizational ResponsibilitiesMinimum Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Preferred: Graduate of an Accredited Medical Assistant program or has obtained a Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA).Licensure, Certification, Registration: Preferred: Certification required upon hire and maintained if not a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills required to communicate with patients, family members, physicians and other health care providers, as well as other colleagues. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must possess strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills to ensure patient's needs are met. Must possess basic computer skills to input and retrieve clinical information, as well as patient registration and appointment information. Utilizes critical thinking and good judgement in performance of tasks. Must possess good organizational skills and the ability to multitask and to prioritize daily assignments to ensure smooth work flow.Experience: None.Pay Range:$21.00 - $28.26The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
