Senior Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established manufacturing organization in the Smithfield, NC area to hire a Senior Accountant. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in the accounting and financial reporting process while partnering closely with operational and finance leadership.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where they can make a meaningful impact. Please note that this position is fully onsite in Smithfield, NC, five days per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and enter journal entries as part of the month-end close process
  
  
• Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedules
  
  
• Review variances and provide explanations as part of the month-end close review
  
  
• Provide forecast updates throughout the month for specific expense categories
  
  
• Execute internal controls on a monthly and quarterly basis
  
  
• Maintain daily management reporting related to sales
  
  
• Generate and distribute invoices to customers
  
  
• Post payments and reconcile cash
  
  
• Monitor customer accounts for timely payment and follow up on past-due invoices
  
  
• Implement effective collection strategies to reduce aged receivables
  
  
• Prepare working capital reports for management on a weekly basis
  
  
• Support audit requests
  
  
• Other duties assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  
  
• Minimum of 2+ years of accounting experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 4+ years with an Associate degree.
  
  
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliations.
  
  
• Advanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systems.
  
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  
  
• Manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
  
  
• Experience with Oracle, SAP, Infor Syteline, or similar ERP platforms is required.
  
  
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  
  
• Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines.
