Senior Accounting SpecialistThe Senior Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for processing and maintaining fixed assets, prepaid accounts, and is responsible for executing a variety of financial processes including month-end and year-end closing, general ledger reviews, variance analysis, account reconciliations, and assisting with quarterly regulatory reporting.Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for monthly fixed assets and prepaid accountingSupports daily liquidity and funds managementPrepare general ledger certifications (i.e. correspondent bank accounts, asset/liability general ledger accounts and bank control accounts) and applicable schedulesAssist in the month end close process and reporting, including variance analysisAssist in preparing the quarterly Call Report and supporting schedulesSupports preparation of various analytical reports and informationAnalyze financial information to identify discrepanciesResearch and resolve discrepancies timelyCollaborates with different departments to achieve the various deliverables on financial reportingBuilds and maintains rapport with internal stakeholders and external agencies involved in the financial reporting processAdditional tasks and responsibilities as assignedExpected attendance in officeQualifications:Minimum of 3 years of Accounting ExperienceCommercial banking accounting experience preferredBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited universityProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power PointMinimum of intermediate experience in ExcelSkills and Competencies:Performing tasks with minimal supervisionProactive and self-starterIndependent critical thinkerExcellent written/verbal communication and presentation skillsExcellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage shifting priorities and accomplish deliverables accurately and on time.Ability to write reports, business correspondence and detailed procedures.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other team members, managers, clients, customers, and vendors.Technical SkillsStrives to continuously build knowledge and skillsWorking knowledge of accounting related softwarePhysical Demands:Primarily office environmentFrequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands or arms.Required to sit for long periods of timeOccasionally required to stand and walkOccasionally required to lift up to 10 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to focus and review large data sets regularly.The employee is responsible for understanding and following the Bank's BSA/AML policies including elevating suspicious activity to the BSA Officer.
