Litigation Assistant
POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The position of Litigation Assistant supports the Claims process including conducting research of the status of the cases, communicating with clients, communicating with the attorney representing the client, scheduling and preparing for depositions, organizing and maintaining files.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Schedules depositions for all adjusters.
- Reschedules depositions for all adjusters by emailing Opposing Counsel and providing new dates.
- Communicates with both defendant?s counsel and plaintiff?s counsel to provide requested information.
- Drafts and sends Direction for Payment letters to Opposing Counsel requesting payment for our records.
- Keeps PAT updated with any new documents received from Opposing Counsel, Plaintiff?s counsel or client.
- Request updates on cases from Attorney?s offices.
- Provides current status of cases to clients.
- Provide any additional requested information to plaintiff?s counsel as needed.
- Schedules reinspection as requested.
- Reconfirms inspections with plaintiff?s counsel.
- Files away documents in respective files.
- Field calls from clients and attorneys.
- Maintains emails up to date.
- Request closing statement from attorneys.
- Receives service for subpoenas and proceed as necessary.
