# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Medical Oncology RN – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts (assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs); Weekend coverage variable based on unit needs

Highlights:

• 36-bed oncology telemetry unit with over 24 progressive care beds serving adult patients with solid tumors, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology
• High-acuity progressive care environment with patient ratios of 1:3 for PCU and 1:4-5 for medical-surgical telemetry patients
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and social services
• 72-hour structured orientation with focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety
• Oncology experience preferred but not required – RNs with strong ICU and PCU backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• One pre-approved time off period available per contract

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of progressive care unit (PCU) experience
• Current experience in acute care setting (active within the last 12 months) is required
• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Current certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and NIH Stroke Scale
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Essential Clinical Skills:

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias using GE telemetry system
• Central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care and management
• Port access and management
• Blood product administration and heparin protocols
• PCA pump management and cardiac drip monitoring
• High-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP/CPAP, and non-invasive airway management
• Tracheostomy care, chest tube management, and feeding tube care
• IV initiation and management
• Arterial blood gas interpretation
• Use of rapid response teams and code management

Preferred Skills:

• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring experience
• Cardiac drip titration and dysrhythmia management
• IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• Wound care and wound VAC management
• Arterial line management
• Surgical drain management
• Phlebotomy
