About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Day/Night rotating Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Overall 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience. License: Valid state nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Current acute care experience. Description: This position involves caring for patients in a medical unit specialized in acute leukemia and hematology. The focus is primarily on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The daily staffing ratio goal is 1:4, but it may vary based on unit needs. Experience with infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention is essential. The ideal candidate will have skills in telemetry monitoring and IV therapy management. Candidates should be comfortable interpreting dysrhythmias and managing blood products. Responsibilities include central and peripheral line care and administration of intravenous medications. The unit supports various interdisciplinary services including pharmacy and respiratory services. Prior oncology experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must meet compliance requirements promptly to ensure a smooth onboarding process. All professionals must provide two professional references, including one from a supervisory capacity.
