Requisition No:880423 Agency: Department of Health Working Title: GOVERNMENT ANALYST II - 64081469 The Division of Children's Medical Services, Bureau of Child Health Quality, seeks a highly organized, motivated professional to serve as Government Analyst II in Tallahassee, Florida. Reporting to the Bureau Chief, this position supports program administration, project management, data analysis, and strategic communicationsfor children and youth with special health care needs. This professional role requires independent analytical work, strong communication skills, and responsibility for managing cross-functional projects that drive operational improvements and quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to interpret program data, identify trends, prepare meaningful reports, and present insights using charts, graphs, or dashboards to inform leadership decisions. Key Position Responsibilities Project Management Manage strategic healthcare projects from initiation through completion. Develop project scopes, charters, work plans, timelines, and deliverables. Monitor progress using project-tracking tools and dashboards. Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery. Identify risks, analyze metrics, and recommend corrective actions. Strategic Communications Prepare briefings, executive summaries, memos, and presentations. Serve as the primary communication contact for internal and external stakeholders. Translate clinical and programmatic information into clear narrative summaries. Align messaging across statewide Children's Medical Services regional offices and staff. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze operational, clinical, and program data to identify trends, patterns, and themes. Develop charts, graphs, dashboards, and data summaries using tools such as Excel or Power BI. Present data findings to leadership to support decision-making. Integrate qualitative and quantitative data to evaluate program effectiveness. Ensure data interpretation is focused on clinical operations—not technical IT analytics. Facilitate stakeholder meetings, document decisions, and support accountability. Conduct research on relevant policies, statutes, and health quality metrics. Assist leadership in optimizing workflows and resource allocation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong foundation in project management principles and life-cycle methodologies. Skill in using project tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet) for operational planning. Ability to analyze program data and interpret trends related to clinical operations. Ability to produce clear charts, graphs, and data summaries. Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to varied audiences. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners. Qualifications Minimum Valid Florida Driver's License Preferred A current Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management Two years of project management or program analysis experience Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Business, Communications, or related field Experience providing direct communication support to leadership Florida Department of Health Mission, Vision, and Values Mission To protect, promote & improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county & community efforts.
