Inpatient Clinical Pharmacist in New Orleans, LA

Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility in the New Orleans area is seeking a Critical Care Clinical Pharmacist for a 13-week contract opportunity starting June 2nd. This role provides essential pharmacy support for both the Cardiovascular ICU and Medical ICU2, focusing on expert medication management and clinical pharmacy services in a high-acuity inpatient setting.

Responsibilities include:

Collaborating closely with ICU healthcare teams to optimize medication therapy for critically ill patients
Providing clinical pharmacy expertise to enhance patient outcomes in Level 1 trauma and critical care units
Utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record system for order verification, documentation, and communication
Monitoring drug therapies, adjusting dosages, and evaluating adverse reactions
Supporting clinical protocols and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and standards

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Active Louisiana pharmacist license required
Minimum of one year recent experience as a Critical Care/Clinical Pharmacist in a Level 1 trauma center
PGY-2 residency training or equivalent clinical experience preferred but not mandatory
Board certification is a plus
Proficient use of EPIC EMR system
Open to first-time travel pharmacists

Schedule:

Day shift, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, every other week (EOW)

This contract offers a dynamic clinical environment for pharmacists specializing in critical care pharmacy practice. Candidates will join a dedicated multidisciplinary team delivering specialized patient care in a Level 1 trauma hospital setting.
