Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, active Social Worker license and minimum 1+ years School Social Work experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by providing vital support as a School Social Worker in a welcoming, collaborative educational environment. This contract position runs from August 2026 through May 2027 and offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive social work services across multiple school settings, working closely with students in grades K–5 and supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key Qualifications:

• Michigan Department of Education approval as a School Social Worker is required
• Experience delivering social work services in school settings, preferably with elementary and middle school populations
• Strong skills in assessment, intervention planning, and coordination of services
• Ability to manage a caseload of 43–48 students across multiple school buildings, including public and nonpublic settings
• Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration abilities

Role Responsibilities:

• Conduct individual and group counseling to address students’ social and emotional needs
• Support teachers and administrators with interventions that foster positive classroom climates
• Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance, behavior, and academic achievement
• Coordinate with families, teachers, and community agencies to ensure wraparound support for students
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with district and compliance guidelines
• Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met
