Laboratory Technician

Job Family: Laboratory Technician Location: Bethesda, MD (full‑time, on‑site) Travel Required: None Clearance Required: Obtain Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates with an active Public Trust or suitability are preferred. What You Will Do Assist in experiments and procedures involving human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Support CRISPR/Cas9 gene‑editing techniques and other molecular biology assays. Design, set up, apply, and evaluate new experimental procedures, consulting relevant references. Collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data; prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and SOPs. Maintain laboratory supplies, inventory, and equipment; perform general lab maintenance and organization. Troubleshoot equipment or experimental issues and develop resolution methods under task leader direction. Maintain security, record keeping, and monitoring of agents; uphold lab safety and training records. Use databases for sample and reagent tracking; operate and communicate effectively in a team environment. Required Qualifications Degree in biology (general, molecular, or cell biology), genetics, biochemistry, or related field. Ph.D. with at least 3 years of related experienceorMaster’s with at least 5 years of related experienceorBachelor’s with at least 8 years of related experience. Experience in DNA extraction, human cell culture, and/or gene‑editing techniques. Knowledge of proper laboratory disposal methods and safety procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft 365. Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Nice to Have Experience with iPSC cell culture. Experience with graphing software such as GraphPad. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Excellent organization, multitasking, prioritization, attention to detail, and oral/written communication skills. Salary and Benefits Annual salary range: $98,000.00–$163,000.00; compensation decisions consider experience, training, clearances, licensure, and other factors. Position may be eligible for a discretionary variable incentive bonus.
