Property Accountant

We are looking for a Property Accountant to support a large commercial real estate portfolio in Woodbury, New York. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing high-volume accounting activity, maintaining accurate financial records, and delivering reliable monthly reporting. The successful candidate will bring strong property accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and hands-on experience with Yardi and month-end close processes.Responsibilities:• Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of approximately 30 commercial properties each month, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and on schedule.• Complete month-end close activities, including reviewing account activity, preparing journal entries, and finalizing financial results within established deadlines.• Maintain the general ledger for assigned properties and ensure balances are properly supported through regular reconciliations.• Apply accrual-based accounting principles to record expenses, revenue, and adjustments in accordance with company policies and reporting standards.• Prepare and review property-level financial statements and related schedules to support internal reporting needs.• Use Yardi software to enter, monitor, and reconcile accounting data while helping maintain the integrity of property financial records.• Investigate discrepancies, resolve variances, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to address accounting issues affecting assigned properties.
