Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every Other Weekend and Holiday Required

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized plans of care based on patient and family interviews, health record review, and identified cultural, religious, physical, and psychosocial needs, including discharge planning.
• Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed, including medications, IV therapy, respiratory therapy, and mechanical ventilation; initiate appropriate emergency interventions when required.
• Plan, provide, and document patient and family education on preventative, curative, and rehabilitative measures, accounting for learning needs, barriers, and readiness.
• Record observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and coordinated activities; evaluate and update the plan of care based on patient response and progress toward outcomes.
• Provide oversight, delegation, and technical guidance to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed personnel; assign care tasks aligned with staff skills and patient requirements.
• Maintain unit safety, adequate supplies and equipment, and uphold professional, ethical, and legal standards of nursing practice while serving as a positive role model.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience.
• Experience with tracheostomy care and mechanical ventilation required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required.
• Ability to float to other Medical Surgical units as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-acuity Medical Surgical environment.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to mentor and guide nursing team members.
